Hello! I am Allison Cloutier an elementary/middle and special education double major here at UNE. Working with children is something I have done since the summer of my sophomore year of high school. Starting out as a summer recreation camp counselor, then moving to working in the before and after school program. I have worked summers and before & after school program ever since then. During my junior year of high school I did some mentoring in a kindergarten classroom. Then during my senior year I spend everyday in that same kindergarten class. That was until COVID hit. Once the pandemic hit and everything got shut down I found myself a job tutoring two children through the rest of their school year.
Now here I am at UNE! During my freshman year here at UNE, we were unable to do any field work in the schools. I was lucky enough to get a job substituting at the Biddeford Intermediate School where I spend my free days filling in. I also work as a substitute in the RSU 21 at the Mildred L Day school.
