This is a social studies unit that I have planned out. I have taken the personal finance and economics standard and broken it down into student learning objectives. From those objectives I have created 5 sample lessons with assessments and evaluation methods. Each of the 5 lessons are linked within the student learning objective. In the lesson you will find the broken down activity for the lesson along with assessment method included. Key vocabulary to be taught and reviewed during the unit have been included. Also included is a link to the unit summative assessment.
My social studies unit reflects my knowledge of assessments because I have provided samples of my assessment forms and evaluation methods. Each lesson has a unique way of assessing student knowledge and engagement with material. This unit is very heavily guided on student choice and student preference. The unit assessment is done is a way for students to show what they have collected form the unit and what they have learned during our time with it. The assessment is not being graded on accuracy on a test, but rather student product of learning.
