During our time in EDU 373 we worked very closely with partners in class and created curriculum for students in the Blast program. As groups we received a group of first graders who needed extra support with their math skills. We had to come together to create a preassessment, as well as analyze data to split them into smaller groups. With these smaller groups partners worked to create engaging math lessons each week to help improve the students math skills. Then after working with them for six lessons, we did a post assessment. This post assessment provided data on how the students received the lesson. From there we analyzed each lesson and all the data we collected to round it off in a final project.

With this project and final assignment my partner and I were able to work on creating curricular knowledge. We had to work closely with our three students and monitor their progress to move forward. Our time with them mimicked a tier 2 intervention, where we were able to really pump the breaks and focus on their specific needs. During our time with our students we were only able to work on one standard. We worked on building a strong foundation on addition and subtraction skills with these three students. After six weeks we did see a great amount of growth and they were starting to be more confident in their own abilities as well.
