For this assignment we had to take a case study on a student and break it down for a plan of action. We got an initial case study where we had to break down potential concerns and things, we would focus on working on. We also had to figure out what data we still needed and how we would collect the data that was needed. Then we received a second round of the case study that had more refined answers to our questions before. From all this information we had to prepare a plan on action on three main concerns. One academic goal, once social and emotional goal, and one behavioral goal. We broke each goal down and made a specific action plan for the goal. Then we had to take out action plan and present it in a way we would to the parents.
This assignment connects and relates to collaboration and leadership. We had to work together to look deeply into the case study and pull out major concerns that we had for our student. Though for this assignment we did not work with a social worker or an OT we talked and practiced what that would be like. We also took time to talk about how we address the parents and talk about the action plan with them. It was great practice to learn how a meeting would be held and run and what it would look like to work with different people in the school.
