Assignment in reference:

ELL students and other students who are learning a second language have different needs than others. In this assignment I looked at how a second language is learned, along with the process it takes. For each step of the process I have offered up instructional strategies for how to work with the student. By taking into the consideration of how these students are learning and what additional support they may need, I have put this assignment under CEC standard 2, understanding learning needs. 


It is important to me that each student receives the best education possible. Whether it be delivered by me or another teacher in the building I am working in. If I have any knowledge to offer up or research I have done to help support them I will do so. If I am working with a specific student, I believe it is part of my job to deeply understand how I can best communicate and help the student learn. There are ways to work with language barriers, and help get the student to the next stage. A barrier is all it is, it is not a wall standing in their way, the students just need our guidance and support to break down the barriers.
