Formal and informal formative and summative assessments
There are many different types and ways to assess students. The most valuable piece is what you do with the data that you find. The data from these assessments can give you so much valuable information as the classroom teacher. It can tell you how a lesson went and how you delivered it as a teacher. Assessments for me is not really to test the students, but to reflects back on how I did as a teacher. Did I explain and go in depth on the lesson to get the information across. Or are there missing pieces that I need to go back and reteach. Another option is that I could just have to go back and reinforce specific pieces or parts of the lesson. There are important assessments that do tell how a student is learning and gives you more information on them.
